What do we offer?

When you go kitesurfing in Sri Lanka, you can book accommodation in the kitesurf resort in Kalpitiya Sri Lanka with us. At no extra cost! In other words: you pay the same but with the convenience of quick correspondence and up-to-date info.

Accommodations

There are several accommodations for your kitesurfing holiday to Sri Lanka. The kitesurf resort consists of several bungalows, which are perfect for families or couples. A standard “Oyster Room” overlooks the garden with swimming pool. There is air conditioning and a bathroom in the cottage.
Another option is the “Tropical Cabana” type of house. With an outside bathroom and a fan instead of air conditioning. Finally there is the “Jungalow Escape” with air conditioning, indoor and outdoor bathroom and an extra area where you can relax.

The kitesurf resort is easy to reach with a (rental) car. When you come by public transport, you have to take the last part with the TukTuk taxi. That is why some people choose for a driver or their own car. You can park your car in front of the door. But we can also arrange airport pick-up and drop-off for you.

More about the Kitesurf resort

This kite-resort, called Rascals, is located just outside the fishing village of Kandakuliya in Kalpitiya in northwestern Sri Lanka. The kite resort is a medium sized ‘hotel’ with various options for kite surfing lessons or equipment rental. In addition, when you are not kitesurfing, you can also swim in the pool or book a massage.

You can pay by card (creditcard). But paying in cash – Euro’s (€) or  SriLankanRoepia (LKR), is also possible. You can get cash at the airport upon arrival. You can also get cash in the little town of Negombo (about 15 minutes from CMB airport). We can arrange a few nights here as well, if you like! You’ll be staying with the locals in a pleasant area of the town.

Arrival & departure

To go kitesurfing near the kite surf resort in Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka, you’ll be flying to Colombo (CMB). You’ll be needing a visa for Sri Lanka. You can get yours online. Let us know if you need any assistance. The visa is for 30 days and can be extended in the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo.
Airlines that fly to Sri Lanka, amongst others, are: Ethidad and KLM. 

Note: In Sri Lanka people drive on the left side of the road! It can be super busy on the road. Make sure you have driving experience when you rent a car (or TukTuk). 

Come prepared: Are you going to the inlands too? Pack a raincoat, long pair of pants and a hoodie. Temperatures can differ a lot!

Kalpitiya Lagoon. The perfect spot for beginners and freestyle. The kitesurf resort is located at the Kalpitya Lagoon but you’ll need a short boat-ride to get to the place to launch and start. Don’t worry, these boatrides are included. At the Kalpitiya lagoon you will find flat / choppy water with here and there some gusts and plenty of space.

Aside from kitesurfing it’s a good idea to take a time to relax in the comfy beds in the shade alongside of the clean swimming pool. Want to go outside the hotel? Get a TukTuk and head over to the small villages.
Fishing and kayaking is also easy access from the kitesurf resort.
